I am so excited to have you here - welcome!
My name is Alicia and I am the owner and clinical psychotherapist behind this business. I have always had a passion for nutrition, wellness, and psychology and created A Balanced Self to integrate all three!
My business was founded in April 2020 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and I strived (and continue to strive) to support individuals during this time of the unknown. Despite the challenges in the world, I am able to provide counseling to individuals across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. This time in the mental health field has been great due to services being the most accessible than ever before. We have been able to provide counseling through HIPPA-compliant technology as you sit in the comfort of your own home. I am truly humbled to be able to continue to support individual's on their life's journey - regardless of where they are in their lives.
What sets me apart from other clinicians is that I not only assess your mental health concerns, but also relationships, financial wellness, spirituality, and nutrition. By integrating multiple components of yourself into our sessions, we will be able to pinpoint which areas are a little dusty and need to be put back to balance. Maybe you have been experiencing challenges within your relationship and there is an underlying anxiety that has been stored within you for years that you didn't realize. Whatever you need, we will work together as a team.
Does this approach not work for you? I also offer traditional individual counseling! In this method, we will take a more traditional approach, utilizing evidence-based methodology to assess, treat, and manage mental health concerns.
I have a wide range of clinical experience, training, mentorship, and management within the field of healthcare. I have worked in emergency rooms, psychiatric hospital admissions, schools, community mental health, public health departments, group practice, and college health centers.
I hope this website provides you with information, guidance, and education regarding mental and physical wellness.
